Dr. Horowitz serves as the health policy consultant to the City University of New York (CUNY) and the medical advisor to the Leman Manhattan Preparatory School. He has also served as consultant to three other New York area colleges and universities. DFM's physicians make on-site visits to college health centers to consult on difficult cases. They also consult by phone with nursing staffs to assist in the management of patients seen in the Health Centers. Mandatory vaccination sessions (against measles, mumps and rubella) are supervised by DFM's MDs. Downtown Family Medicine is also available to faculty and adminsitration in the event of medical emergencies, health policy decisions and health fairs.
